HELMETS CAN'T PROTECT WHAT THEY DON'T COVER
A helmet protects only what it covers. It does not protect the
neck or any area of the head it doesn't cover. Always wear a
helmet low in the front to protect the forehead. Make .sure the
helmet fits snugly and toe straps are adjusted to hold the helmet
firmly in place when tightly fastened.
To be effective, the helmet must fit correctly. Try on the
helmet. If the helmet is too small, exchange it for the next size
larger. The helmet should fit snugly but comfortable. If the fit
is comfortable and the skin on your forehead moves with the
helmet, a proper fit has been accomplished. If not the helmet is
too loose. Do not wear the helmet tipped back on the head, because
retention straps cannot be property adjusted and the helmet may be
ejected in an accident. If an additional free sizing pod is
included use in the event it is needed. If your helmet has a Dial
Fit System- just dial to fit. It has a sell-positioning component
that provides a stable, comfortable fit that (eliminates forward
and backward shift.)
ADJUSTING THE CHIN STRAP & FASTENING THE BUCKLE
WARNING: The chin-strap is an integral part of your helmet's
protection system. It must be property adjusted and used. The
chin-strap must fit well under the chin, up against the throat,
and be as snug as possible.
The buckle is fastened by clicking the two parts securely
together. An audible -Click" will you know the buckle is secured.
To release the buckle, gently squeeze on both sides of the buckle.
Any helmet that has a metal buckle and hook Clip the free end of
the metal buckle over the metal hook. Adjust the chin strap by
pulling until you have achieved snug but comfortable fit and soap
leather above the hook in place.
THE FINAL CHECK
A properly fitted, well adjusted, and correctly positioned
helmet is more likely to remain in place during an accident, will
give the most protection available for the design, and will be the
most comfortable to wear. With the helmet on and tightly fastened,
try to remove it by roiling it backwards and forwards as far as
possible. The helmet should not be able to be removed or roll
backwards or forwards to expose the forehead or obscure vision.
Repeat fitting steps as necessary until you have the correct fit.
All adjustments should be checked each time the helmet is worn,
making sure it fits snugly and correctly at all times. |
